PBIS/7 Habits

Throughout the year, Seymour Elementary students follow the PBIS 3 Bees. They are Bee Responsible, Bee Respectful and Bee a Caring Citizen. The students are encouraged to be "caught" doing the right thing. Teachers and staff will be watching for good behavior in the hallway, in the restroom, in the cafeteria, on the playground and on the bus. If the teacher or staff sees the student behaving in the correct way, the student will be awarded a "Bee Buck". These "Bee Bucks" are then put into the classroom "hive" and twice a month there will be a drawing for a prize. This has been a very positive addition to the
                                                    school.

For several years, Seymour Elementary students have also been following the Steven Covey 7 Habits. Habit 1 is Be Proactive. Habit 2 is Begin with the End in Mind. Habit 3 is Put First Things First. Habit 4 is Think Win-Win. Habit 5 is Seek First to Understand Then to be Understood. Habit 6 is Synergize and Habit 7 is Sharpen the Saw. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the individual classrooms will be performing skits that portray each habit. Everyone is invited to attend the morning assemblies.
